Cairo Raw Ruby Toggle Necklace in Silver

I have become a little obsessed with hollow forms lately. They just feel so substantial. I love the way they look like one giant hunk of silver, the way your fingers slide over one plane and then slip over another.

The Cairo necklace features a chunk of raw Ruby cut into a hexagon. This stone is a whopper (41.5 cts) so I decided it was perfect to set in a hollow form. This is one substantial pendant but is lighter than is looks because of the hollow form. It is still 10 grams of silver and it feels wonderful!
